OUR SPINDLES FOR DEBURRING WITH ROBOTS

With our spindles you are equipped for all tasks. High speed deburring and milling spindles for robots and CNC machines, brushing, filing and countersinking machines. We also have angular drill deburrers for the most difficult robot deburring tasks are in our programme.

VSpin

"Our world first VSpin also brings Industry 4.0 to your deburring and brushing applications. In conjunction with the VPort, real time data can be read out from the spindle during machining. This gives you live feedback on all relevant measured values: speed, deflection, deflection direction and much more. This gives you full process control and allows you to seamlessly monitor the entire deburring process. The sensitive sensor system can be used to determine tool wear, so that a tool change can take place at an early stage and without any loss of quality. The component position can also be monitored and a possible crash prevented - all with just one spindle! But the highlight is the simplified teaching, because thanks to variable deflection, the spindle only needs a few teach points to then deliver the perfect deburring result. Fast and efficient, that's VSpin."

Deburring and milling

With our standard spindles without deflection you can solve basic deburring tasks or use them to support the deflectable robot spindles. Rigid spindles are suitable for pre-deburring or for removing very irregular or even large burrs. In a second stage, the contour is reworked with a suitable robot spindle.

The ESR 1000 and ESR 551 series robot spindles are used for the finest deburring tasks. The ESR 350 and ESR 353 series (for hard to reach areas) are ideal for fine and also larger secondary burrs. For medium to coarse burr removal we recommend the ESR 280, ESR 200 and ESR 170 series. Our powerful vane motors can even cope with irregular burrs. Even closed cast windows or cast flanges can be deburred with these series.

With the infinitely adjustable deflection force, the robot spindle can be precisely adjusted in all positions. In addition to the classic robot spindles, we also offer our VSpin with various sensors and real time feedback. So you have everything in view: Speed, deflection, alignment.

Brushing - pneumatic

Brush motors are available in rigid design as well as axially or radially deflectable drives. Depending on the version, brush motors can be combined with a quick change chuck, speed sensor and the SSU 60 deflection unit. The quick change chuck enables the brushes to be changed quickly and easily when worn.
Brush wear can be determined very easily for brush motors without deflection using our motors with speed sensor. This information allows decisions to be made on the brush wear. When idling, i.e. without brush intervention, the speed sensor provides information about the operating condition of the motor. This also makes it possible to check the maintenance intervals of the engine.

Brushing applications with robots are easy to program. If the bristles are flexible enough, workpiece and position tolerances can be easily compensated. The application and the brushes to be used determine whether a spindle with deflection (robot spindle) or a standard brush motor without deflection is used.

Brushing - electric

The new BLDC product line with electric motors revolutionises automated brushing and deburring.

The BLDC motor spindle with gearbox keeps the speed constant as long as the contact pressure of the brush does not exceed the max. torque of the spindle. In this way, a consistent brushing result can be achieved. A wide speed range can be achieved without any loss of torque. The BLDC motor spindle does not slow down when the brush touches the material and starts brushing.

The smaller 36mm diameter model covers a speed range from 700 to 6,500 rpm and has a maximum torque of 1.1 Nm. Less spin, but more power is provided by the 45mm diameter model with a speed range of 700 to 4,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 1.9 Nm.

The new electric motor spindle shows its strength particularly effectively when used with the quick-change chuck. This allows applications with different brushes and brush diameters to be achieved with just one drive.

Quick change chuck for brush change

In an axial brushing application, regular changing of the brushes is necessary. The quick change chuck of the WS types enables the brushes to be changed quickly and easily.

The tools to be changed can be prepared outside the work process in a secondary process and changed within a very short time. The tool change is optimally carried out by a robot. Rotating holders are used to safely deposit the brush holders that are being changed in and out, provided that the changing process is carried out with the fork on the robot arm. When the machine is mounted on the robot arm, the exchanged brush holders can be safely and reliably deposited in the forks in any position.

Quick change system holders

Since the bristles are generally subject to higher wear compared to the cutting edges of the cutters, we recommend the use of our changing system for the automated insertion and replacement of brushes.

The changing system was specially developed for robot applications - regardless of whether the robot guides the tool or the workpiece. With the matching accessories, both applications are covered.

The rotary holders are used to safely deposit the brush holders that have been changed in and out, provided that the changing process is carried out with the fork on the robot arm. When the machine is mounted on the robot arm, the exchanged brush holders can be safely and reliably deposited in the forks in any position.

Countersinking and drilling

Different types are available depending on the sinking / deburring task. If dimensional deviations are to be expected, e.g. due to the casting, the use of axial or radial compensation is recommended.
For components with high repeated hole accuracy, a type without deflection such as EBS 520 ER or EBS 504 ZG can also be used. In order to achieve an optimal speed depending on the size of the countersink, the speed throttling of machines can optionally be carried out via the supply and exhaust air. Due to the high reduction ratio of the gearboxes, sufficient power is still available for the lowering process even at a low working pressure.

Filing

The advantage of a filer lies in its easy handling and programming. Filing machines are also used for work that basically requires oscillating machining. The tool used is not necessarily a file, but can be a simple piece of round steel to clean contours, depending on the task, such as sand core deburring in core making. Applications in which a cutting blade oscillates instead of a file are also quite common.

Variable deflection unit

With the SSU 60 deflection unit, you can combine a variety of air motors, angle drill deburrers, filers or grinding spindles. The deflection can be radially deflected upwards and downwards in one axis. The angle to the centre axis is +/- 5°. Due to the modular design and the separation of the drives from the deflection unit, drives can be exchanged cost-effectively when the process changes or when tools wear out. The deflection is monitored by sensors which, in addition to displaying the working range, also warn if the maximum deflection angle is exceeded, thereby preventing collisions.
